After going a perfect 2–0 with our NFL Week 5 bets last week we’re back on the right track as we look to the NFL Week 6 bets. Let’s look over what worked and then do what we can to continue this trend.

What Went Right?

The single game bet we liked the most for Week 5 was the Arizona Cardinals covering -4.5 against their division rival San Francisco 49ers. We bet it knowing that the Cardinals would make it a long day for the Niners and their rookie QB Trey Lance in his first start. The Cardinals limited San Francisco to just 10 points and Arizona went on to win and cover with a score of 17–10.

We have had success with our 2-team teasers so far this season and did so again in week 5 when we teased the Dallas Cowboys to -1 and the Baltimore Ravens to -.5 points. With the Ravens going into overtime against the Colts we were relieved that we teased it down. Thankfully it worked out anyway for us as the Ravens won 31–25 and the Cowboys beat the Giants 44–20.

NFL Week 6 Bets

The early slate of games has a classic division rivalry as the Green Bay Packers head to Chicago to battle the Bears. The Packers have covered the spread in 7 of their last 10 meetings but I think that could all change this Sunday. Bears QB Justin Fields is looking more comfortable and improving with each start as the Bears have won their last 2 games. The Packers have had massive ups and downs thus far. They looked awful in week 1, turned things around thereafter, and got very lucky with a 3 point OT victory last week against Cincinnati. I don’t know that the Bears will extend their win streak but I do think they’ll manage to cover the 5.5 point spread at home.

A line that got my attention the most this week was seeing the only remaining undefeated team, the Arizona Cardinals, as 3.5 point underdogs against the Cleveland Browns. After Browns star RB Nick Chubb was ruled out the line only moved slightly with Cleveland as 3 point favorites. The more I look into it the more I like the Browns to cover that spread at home. Arizona will be flying to the east coast to take on the Browns and the returning Jarvis Landry. This looks like its going to be a high scoring game and I think Baker Mayfield will get plenty of help from Kareem Hunt and Jarvis Landry to dish out the first loss to Arizona.

Edit (Saturday night): It looks like Jarvis Landry won’t be ready to return for week 6. I still stand by Cleveland covering the spread.

The Kris Bets This…

NFL (8–6)(57.14%)(+1.4 units)

Chicago +5.5
Cleveland -3.5

Some weeks I find a lot of great plays and this was not one of those weeks. A lot of these games scared me off and I’d rather give out quality picks over a quantity of picks. These lines were taken from Draftkings. Be sure to line shop with Fanduel as well and best of luck everyone!
